Today I would like to talk about Backgrounds....
I made this card to showcase a background...using some "Serendipity" stamps for a Mother's day card
First I started by sponging randomly some ink colors all over a sheet of card stock using a self made "corner mask",
I used the "stipple technique", which consist in inking some brushes and pouncing on the paper...
then I chose several stamps and I simply stamped repeatedly with different color inks to create a background.... One sheet can be use in several different projects
I embellished the card using some "My Favorite Things" dies and I mounted my background in a "Spellbinders Decorative Labels 8" .
The sentiment was gold embossed in Parchment, in order not to cover the background
There are lots of fun techniques that you can use to make striking backgrounds and these are not only used in cards but can be used for your scrapbook pages...
I have several sample cards cards using different background techniques...
For instance,
Background #1: I colored my base with different color Stains , then I sponged it with some inks and added some mist sprays and I finally stamped several images...
Background #2: I used the "Rock and Roll" technique in this one
|
|
Background # 3: the "Emboss Resist" technique was used in this one...
Background #4: I used an inked embossing folder to create a 2 tone effect...

These are just a few samples on backgrounds, ... I hope you will give it a try as well...
and If you are in the area check my upcoming classes, on the side bar; these classes focus on Backgrounds and Techniques...so hopefully I will see you there
Thanks for stopping by, have a safe day and keep in touch...
BTW: I won 1st place with this card at Serendipity Challenge #10 with a Background theme...
