Happy Mother's Day..In Mexico...and...!

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:
On May 10th, in Mexico, El Salvador and in Guatemala they are celebrating mother's day, which is  today!...
So I wanted to dedicate this card that I featured at my blog "A Crear se Dijo!" written in Spanish for Memory Box...as part of my contributions as a design team member...to all the mothers in these countries...so...
FELIZ DIA DE LAS MADRES!

INTERESTING FACTS:
Mother's day is universal and I believe this tradition started here in the US at the beginning of the 20th century but not every country celebrates it on the second Sunday as it is done here in the US.
In Mexico, El Salvador and Guatemala it is always on May 10th, no matter which day of the week it is....
and In France it is celebrated on the 4th Sunday of May...
and in England it is in March!

Anyways, my point is that for the month of May we will be celebrating all month long this day that should be celebrated all year long, don't you think?

Now onto this card...
I used several "Memory Box" dies and stamps that you can see in this photo

For the flowers I used this type of "tissue" "paper", that I bought at a garage sale.
If somebody knows the name it, please let me know...

The "Hey Script" die is from the new release of dies from the Spring 2013 catalog, that you can browse on the side bar, just click on it and you will see all the marvelous new dies released by "Memory Box" for this Spring...

This Unique Fold is quite simple but different enough to make this card special for all those moms out there...

Here are the Instructions:
1- make an A2 card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2 ", folded); at the 1 1/2" trace a line and find the center point at
2 3/4"
2- fold upwards the 2 corners, meet at the center point
3- place scotch tape on one of the flaps facing up

4- you will have then created a little pocket...

5- you can use this card in an horizontal way or vertical as I did with my sample..

And this is how it looks tucked in...the little square note measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"

I will be featuring a card specially for Colombian, American and some other countries this coming Sunday May 12th, so I invite you to stop by, before headding out to a brunch or a big celebration for this special day...:)

I will be doing certainly something, as well for French moms on My French blog at the end of this month... so keep checking back...
I hope you liked this Fun Fold

As always thanks for stopping bye, ...

  2. Beautiful card with a fun fold and I'm glad you showed a close-up of your flowers. They are beautifully created.

You asked about the tape on my card. It is called crafting tape by Recollections, not Washi. But, it works the same as Washi and will remove and re-stick easily if needed.

    Have a wonderful weekend.
