Tim Holtz...Inspiration Patchwork!

Hello Everybody;
Today I want to continue to show "CASE" Tim Holtz' inspiration art work!

This piece hangs from one of the walls in my craft room and it holds a very special place, not only for the experience/souvenir of such a wonderful week-end working and learning from him in one of his workshops and sharing nice creative moments with my fellow craft friends...but as well for its practical, yet attractive use!. It is a constant reminder of all the techniques that I learned that day and that I can apply to my cardmaking...and it adorns my room at the same time...So thank you Tim for these wonderful classes!

The class was called "Patchwork Pandemonium" ...and here are some photos from that class...

And indeed, we cover a "pandemonium" of techniques! Each block represents a different one...even though you have plenty of time in class to finish, I did not finished my frame there,... I learned all the techniques, applied them to every single square and then at home, more calmly I could personalized it, give it my personal touch, customized it  to be in that specific wall of my studio and framed it in white to match my decor.

Tim with his creation...

Some of The techniques that we cover (among many others) were:
1- how to use crackled paint on grunge paper and distressed it with inks (blocks #1; 3; 13; 21)
2- how to emboss grunge, paint it, sand it, and paint it again with metallic paint ( blocks #17)
3- how to use distress Stains with stamps (blocks #7; 19)
4- how to use distress stickles (block # 11)
5- how to use alcohol inks with paint (block #14) etc ....

As for the embellishments, some came from my personal trinkets: my initial "B", the cross, the hat pin...the white small frame is From "Melissa Frances", I added pearls, which is my birth stone, flowers, because I like them and of course birds.....I wished that I had an owl at the time...and the saying says "Welcome to my craft room BMZ, my initials"

The rose flower is a flower that I learned how to make through "Valita's Designs" in this Video...
Ok I hope you enjoyed looking at this piece or art and look on Tim's website, he has all these techniques and much more posted in his page...
bye for now,
