Hello Dear Friends:
Yesterday, I posted this card at the French Blog for Memory Box: "Un brin de Créativité" for St. Patrick's...
How was your day? mine, went well...
I cooked corned beef, cabbage and red potatoes...for a Colombian, I think I did a pretty Irish decent meal!!! Love to celebrate and be part of other cultures and traditions!!!
Ok, onto the card..
Here are the dies and stencil that I used to make the card
Die cut the wreath twice ( one in green to make the base and one in cream to be placed inside the aperture)
I place some scotch tape on the reverse side to inserted it in the aperture.. this is the inlay technique
The green wreath was used to create the arrangement of flowers on the corner...
A close up on the center of the card..
The green background was stenciled with white ink and the flowers were also stenciled directly with the die
and did you know ...
that the color for St Patrick's was not Green but Blue at first?
and that the 1st St. Patrick's Parade was not in Ireland but in Boston in the 18th Century?
nice trivia....
[- "Oh and lastly an "Irish" joke"...
- "Did you hear the one about the Irishman who came out of a bar?"
- "No!"
- "Well, that is because they do not come out of a bar after they go in!"
