Day 2 for the Memory Box Blog Blitz, showcasing the NEW Holiday collection 2014...
My turn was to showcase this NEW "whirligig circle" at the Spanish blog; "A crear se dijo!"
For this card I used the "Inlay Wood Veneer Technique"
Step by step...
1- die cut the piece in wood veneer
Important: KEEP all the small pieces to be inserted later
2- place the word "thanks" on the middle center part and run it through the machine
3- Color the "word" and the "swirl" pieces in brown tones, I used my "Copic" markers
4-Place underneath the main "negative" piece a double sided adhesive sheet, (the white spot is NOT plain paper is has adhesive)
5-place back all the pieces in the "negative"
6- use this "tool" to pick up the pieces..
this step goes rather quickly since you have already adhesive and you only are picking up and placing them back...
It seams long but believe me, it is not!
NOTE; important; when placing back all the pieces do it AT THE SAME TIME...the flourish with the center part
MY Mistake: I place one by one and all the pieces did not fit well again, see photo below
I covered the mistake with a flower and added this bouquet of strings, taken from the edges of the burlap...
would you like to win this "circle" die?
hop to the Spanish blog: "A Crear se Dijo!"
and leave me a comment over there...
I will announce the winners by the week end.

Nice!!! Where did you get the wood veneer? Thanks
ReplyDeleteThis has such amazing texture, and have never tried cutting the wood veneer with the dies. This is spectacular, and it's encouraging to learn that I'm not the only one who has trouble inlaying the positive pieces back into the shape. Loved your save! I enjoy reading about those too. Love the burlap piece behind the wood, this just makes me want to touch this one. Liked the colors and especially the ombre shading on the sentiment. Oh well done!!! TFS (This beautiful die is one that I've not seen yet).
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning! Definitely looks like it took a while to do! Love that intricate MB die!
