A Watercolor Card for Lavinia Challenge #4: Spring

Hello My dear Stamper Friends:
We are at the first day of the month, where time goes???

and as you may know by now, Lavinia stamps host a challenge at their blog each 1st of the month...this month's theme is Spring...
And here it is my contribution...

I decided to use watercolor paper and watercolor the main images...paired with some Memory Box dies!

I first stamp the mushrooms with Distress Inks and then with a slightly wet brush I painted over, "moving" the color around...

To achieve the 2 tone watercolor on the fairy called "Melody"
-I inked the stamp in "Antique Linen", stamp on watercolor paper..
- then inked the same stamp in "walnut ink" (darker tone)  and removed some ink with a cloth and re-stamped on top of the 1st image.

*This technique is great and more easy to apply with "clear" stamps because you need to see where you are stamping, as you are stamping twice over the same image with 2 different inks...

I hope you can play along us!

For a little bit more of inspiration do not forget to visit my fellow DTM, they always have gorgeous projects...their blogs are found at the main Lavina Stamp Challenge Blog, and remember to leave us some comments and enter your project there for the chance to win a voucher of £40 at the Lavinia web shop site, e-mail entries are accepted too, so you do NOT  need to have a blog to participate! and remember to use Lavinia stamps on your project for a Spring card!

GOOD LUCK!

  11. Bibiana, I am amazed at how much definition you got from a broad face stamp with your water coloring method! That is really a perfect way to use that stamp. The whole card is mystical. What did you use to impress the base card stock layer? You rock girl!

    1. hello Lura: I am not sure what is your question...but I mat the watercolor paper with plain cardstock from my stash of papers and the base,( the card in pool color ) was embossed with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug called "organic" and I used the flourish, it comes with 5 small border embossing folders. I hope I answered your question. hugs bibiana
