We are at the first day of the month, where time goes???
and as you may know by now, Lavinia stamps host a challenge at their blog each 1st of the month...this month's theme is Spring...
And here it is my contribution...
I decided to use watercolor paper and watercolor the main images...paired with some Memory Box dies!
I first stamp the mushrooms with Distress Inks and then with a slightly wet brush I painted over, "moving" the color around...
To achieve the 2 tone watercolor on the fairy called "Melody"
-I inked the stamp in "Antique Linen", stamp on watercolor paper..
- then inked the same stamp in "walnut ink" (darker tone) and removed some ink with a cloth and re-stamped on top of the 1st image.
*This technique is great and more easy to apply with "clear" stamps because you need to see where you are stamping, as you are stamping twice over the same image with 2 different inks...
I hope you can play along us!
GOOD LUCK!
Such a pretty card Bibiana, your work is always so inspirational.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Love the Melody stamp and the way you watercolored it with two color inks, never thought of trying that.
Pretty and her watering is certainly making the garden grow.

Bibiana, I am amazed at how much definition you got from a broad face stamp with your water coloring method! That is really a perfect way to use that stamp. The whole card is mystical. What did you use to impress the base card stock layer? You rock girl!
ReplyDeletehello Lura: I am not sure what is your question...but I mat the watercolor paper with plain cardstock from my stash of papers and the base,( the card in pool color ) was embossed with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug called "organic" and I used the flourish, it comes with 5 small border embossing folders. I hope I answered your question. hugs bibiana
