Clear Plastic Butterfly

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:

Today I am bringing to you a Birthday card, featuring "Penny Black" stamps paired with some "Spellbinders/Nestabilities labels". The felt flower is from "MFT" and the foliage stamp is from "Heartfelt Creations", these cling stamps are great because they coordinate with a lot of "Spellbinders" dies.

The Technique, that I use is stamping/ heat emboss on "Acetate" paper.
But this card has more interesting elements going on. ... I will go over with you one by one:

TIP #1: Recycle!, do not throw away the clear packaging from all the supplies that you buy...this material is very strong, I use it here for the butterfly instead of using acetate, first because it is more sturdy than acetate and second because it is free...so recycle!

CAUTION: when heat embossing plastic do it with a craft heat resistant sheet underneath. The plastic will curl a little so leave it flat when using the heat gun and not too close, otherwise it will burn!!! let it cool flat...before cutting and folding wings

TIP #2: Layout: use the labels 20 horizontally, picking out from the base card, which is reduced in size (3.5" x 11', score at 5.5 ")..this creates an interesting card layout! This card fits a 5.5"x5.5" square envelope

TIP #3: Mix and match textures: I use plastic, emboss the butterfly, which gives also this "plastic" feeling, felt, glitter paper, ribbon, pearls...this gives dimension and interest to your project!

TIP #4: work out/stretch your dies: I cut in half the labels 23 to fit my layout...and I create a smaller size of the label 20 by tracing with pencil on the interior side of the die (see photo) and cut...this way  you re-adapt your dies to your card!

Ok I hope you enjoyed today's card!
