Today I am very excited to share with you all this tutorial that I posted over at BlueMoonScrapbooking
as a Guest Designer
on how to give some color to your die cuts!
Two simple and quick ways to color your Dies...
1- using inks and daubers
2- and/ or coloring with markers those intricate cuts....
On both cards I am using the NEW Holiday 2015 release of dies from "Memory Box"
See supplies below...
On this first card; a "thank you" card, the intricate dies were colored with markers...
The background was sponged with distress inks and sponges....
1- when die cutting, do not tear apart the die...color on top "randomly" with different shades of a same color of markers, I used 3 different shades: a light, medium and a darker one...
No particular way, no need to be careful...this goes VERY quickly!
When you tear it apart this is the result a multi color branch....
For the word: I trace with a ruler lines of color with the markers;
start with one or two lines of a lighter purple over the word, move the ruler trace some more lines with a medium tone and finish with a darker color...

For this second card, the "Christmas" one; the die was color with Sponged daubers and inks...
Sponge one color (green) 2 or 3 times in different spots;
continue with a second color and so on until you cover the entire die and Voilà!
The result: a die colored with several inks....

1- with watercolors brushes
2- with "Prismacolor" pencils and "Gamsol"
Replace distress inks with daubers
1- with "Versamark" ink and embossing powders for a shinier effect...
2- with glitter

Both these cards are very beautiful hun, and I agree it does give a great look to color some diecuts. I´ve often colored some with my Copics, but never used a dauber thoug, but I´m definitely going to try that too some times, that´s for sure.
