For this card, that I posted at my French Blog: "Un Brin de Créativité" for Memory Box I used one of the NEW dies released for the summer collection...
With this die, called " Vignette Floral Branch", I decided to use the "inlay" technique...
which is becoming one of my favorite techniques
and I tried a NEW technique for the background:
"Faux Stitching" with paint...
step by step:
1- sponge the background with 2 distress inks (orange and green)
2- sprinkle water on top ( make some puddles) let dry
3- with a pattern tracing wheel and some white paint make the "faux stitching"
4- load the tool with paint and trace...
5- die cut 2 flowers (one in black and one in white) color the white one with copics before cutting it apart
6- cut leaves and tiny flowers and glue them to the back die cut
Inlay the petals, previously colored in gray tones..
View of the background with the puddles and the "faux stitching" made with paint
a last view..
Hope you will give it a try..it is very fun to make...
no perfection at all, all my lines are crooked and the puddles of water add lots of interest!!!
Thanks for the visit and the lovely comments...
