Today I am bringing to you this card made with "inlaid" poppies in very contrasting colors!
I first started by doing the background:
I used with this NEW stencil "Blooming Frame" some "Panpastels". These great pastels are so vibrant in color and easy to use. I simply sponge some colors around the frame, making sure that the stencil is secured with removable tape (yellow) to the paper. When finished, remove the scotch tapes and the stencil and make sure to fix it with the fixative spray.
note: I recently found these "removable scotch tapes"..
they are great to work with your stencils...and for masking anything!!!
they are in reality called "Post-it adhesive Rolls" and they are used to label things, they come in white and bright colors, but I am really happy using them with the stencils...because they are paper on one side and on the other they have this adhesive that is strong enough to place whatever you want but they do NOT tear the paper underneath!
if you can give them a try! (mine in the photo is yellow)
I cut the poppies and the corner dies in black cardstock and cut extra flowers in purple and orange cardstock.
I then used the "Inlay technique" on the flowers...which consists in inserting pieces of contrasting colors inside the depression on the die cut (like a puzzle, putting back pieces inside) and to add dimension I glued 2 petals on top of each other
A last view...
Thanks for the visit...and for the lovely comments!

WOUW this is so gorgeous Bibiana, and I absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteI´ve used Scotch removable tape here for ages, but it´s just like normal tape it´s just very low tack, but we get it here in the office supply stores, but it´s pretty pricy, so we reuse it as long as possible, but I totally agree, it´s perfect for both stencils and dies we don´t want to move anywhere, and I couldn´t live without it.
have a great week-end everyone.
Beautiful--and all so new to me. What's so wonderful about these hops--seeing new techniques, finding new artists to admire. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love this card and your site! One of my top picks. Marty bams52@aol.com
