Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
even though we do not have any traces of Irish in our families, we love to celebrate this holiday...
by eating and wearing some green to welcome the arrival of "Spring" with wide open arms!!!
And Today I am bringing to you, to commemorate the death of this Christian saint and the arrival of Christianity to Ireland this card made in green, which is the traditional color for this day!
I embellished the card of course with some shamrock leaves, symbol of Ireland and believed to be the symbol that St. Patrick used to teach the Holy Trinity to the Irish people...
I used two main stamps from of the many and so fabulous "vintage" stamps from "Lost Coast Designs".
The sentiment (embossed in silver EP*) comes in a set of stamps Called "Labels Set", (see below) which depicts the "Belle époque" period (AKA in the USA as the "Gilded age"), which occurred in France and Belgium in the middle of the 19th and begenning of the 20th century...
and "Art Nouveau" is the most popularly recognized art movement to emerge from THIS period.
The second image, the focal point of the card, uses a stamp from a set called "Hat Ladies", which is the reproduction of hats wore during the "Victorian era" , which was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from 1837 until her death, on 1901.
Even though this 2 sets represent different eras in History, The "Victorian era" and the "Belle époque" ...these 2 periods in history overlap a little so I thought that they could go along very well in my card....
I added a "bouquet" of Clovers wrapped in a silver paper doily, and sprinkle the card with silver glitter here and there...
If you happen to be in one of the rubber stamps conventions in the USA or abroad, do not forget to stop to the "Lost Coast Designs / LCD booth"
I am sure you will find something of your liking, their stamps are unique reproductions of eras and various styles in Art...
Next stop is in April in the Netherlands!!!
Thanks for the Visit, the lovely comments
and now I am going to eat some
"Corned Beef and Cabbage with some green beer!" :)
