Hello Dear Stamper Friends:
Last year I contributed at "Splitcoaststampers" (SCS) with some of my tutorials;
The "Bendi Fold",
The "Triangular Diorama"
The "Carousel Storyteller" that you can see in the photos below...
Today I am sharing with you and with the welcoming community of "Splitcoaststampers" this tutorial with the VIDEO on how to make a "Shamrock Fold Card" just on time to celebrate St. Patrick's day!
History Note: "The Feast Of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on March 17th all over the world. For Christians, the day commemorates the death of Saint Patrick (Irish Patron Saint) and the arrival of Christianity to Ireland.
And according to legend, St. Patrick used the 3-leaved shamrock/ (Irish word for clover) to explain the Holy Trinity to the Irish people. It generally, involves public parades and festivals wearing the green attire and displaying shamrocks, which became in the 18th C. the symbol of Ireland and it is registered as a trademark by the Government of Ireland . Christians also attend church services and the Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol are lifted for the day."
Since the Clover is an essential symbol of the festivity I decided to make this "Shamrock Fold". The word "Shamrock" is from the ancient language "Gaelic" and means "Young plant with 3 leaves"
And did you know that in New York, the parade is the biggest outside Ireland with 5 million spectators? and that in the city of Chicago they colored the Chicago River in green for this festivity?
I use the "Grand Heart" die and some stamps from Memory Box to created it.
I specially liked the way the ribbons are crossed!
