Today I am presenting to you this card that I taught at my local craft store...using all "Hero Arts" Stamps to commemorate Memorial Day!
Let's remember all those men and women who died while serving in the US Armed Forces...
Memorial week-end for me since I arrived here to the US is one week-end dedicated to organization and celebration...
It is the beginning of "summer" vacation, schools are almost done and I spend all my week end gardening, taking out and arranging my patio outdoor furniture, organizing all my garden to have it ready for the summer and being able to spend some time outdoors.
I love eating in the patio, it reminds me so much of France...at every occasion specially in the south where I was, it is customary to have almost every meal at your balcony, or patio....so here in the US I do the same, we take as many meals outdoors as possible...
And today Monday, Memorial Day, we always make delicious hamburgers in the BBQ with all the trimmings...and we relax....how american is all that too HUH!
As for the card, the technique shown here is how to get use of all your stamps and create a nice background like a collage.
One friend asked me why in my cards I rarely use pattern papers and I guess this is the reason, because I like to use as many stamps as I can...:)
In this card I use almost ALL the stars that come in this clear stamp set from "Hero Arts" called "Galaxy of Stars", The "Fabulous Flourish" is one of my favorites from HA
I stamp all the images using 3 distress inks of color: Stormy Sky, Pumice Stone, Barn Door and for the brown I use, Cocoa Memento ink; added a punch edge at the end, embellish it with buttons and twine and that's it...pretty simple but I think It turn out very pretty...
The pinking sheer edge is done with scissors, that I got at Michael's from Fiskars...and I used a retired photo corner punch from Stampin'Up!, but "My Favorite Things" has a nice set of dies for Photo corners, check the Supply lit below...
This card can be used for any Patriotic celebration, perfect for this coming 4th of July.

I hope you had a nice and relaxing week end ...

I love this card, Bibiana! Stars are always a hit with me, and the patriotic colors are always stunning. This reminds me of a card you taught me years ago with the children's parade. Love it - hope your holiday was a good one. Summer is near!

Love your inspirational story of eating on the Patio. I love my backyard too. I have a room with 12 windows and 2 doors where I sit almost every morning that looks out the back yard. I watch the sun come up, listen to the chirping of the birds, and sit at my table and craft until it is time to get ready to leave for work. Most mornings I want to cry cause I have to leave....lol We are kindred spirits.
ReplyDeleteYour card is just exceptional. I think it would be perfect for the 4th of July as well. I am looking forward to that Holiday as well. We usually spend it outside on the Patio and in the pool with some great food on the grill.

Carol
