Happy Father's Day...with Hero Arts stamps...

Hello my dear crafty friends:

 Happy Father's Day!!!

This day,  as mother's day,  is celebrated in different countries at different times of the year...but here in the USA, it is celebrated today!, every 3rd Sunday of the month of June...and it is as well celebrated today in Mexico, Colombia and France, the countries where I have lived...so it makes it easier for me to remember :)

This card I had offered it at one of my classes at my local craft store and the theme was cards for "Men"...
The main stamp "vintage car"  is a "Hero Arts",  paired for the background with The "classic fabric design" cling stamp and some "Spellbinders" dies

I used some washers from the stash of my husband's garage.
The background was made with aluminum foil from the kitchen, that I wrap in a piece of cardstock and we ran it through the "Cuttlebug" with an embossing folder.... back then I did not have the  metal sheets from "Rangers", but both work well...so use whatever you have in hand...

The border was made with a EK success punch...and bend to have some dimension...

Ok my friend's enjoy your fathers today
and remember happily the ones that they are not with us anymore...

Keep in touch...and happy father's day to the fathers out there!!!

Farewell to "Gabo"...Adios a "Gabo"!

....As we, Colombians, used to call him!

Today The world of literature has lost a Giant!!!
Farewell to Gabriel García Márquez, ("Adios a Gabo")!!

All the World, Latin Americans and specially, myself  as a Colombian I feel a deep sadness to know that today we have lost one of the greatest writers of the Spanish Language ...Nobel prize in 1982 for his novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude/Cien Años de Soledad"

I  feel touched not only because I am Colombian and "we" admire him deeply but because I had the opportunity to meet him when I was 15 years old while living in Mexico, City...

Photo: Him and I, with his novel: "Cien años de Soledad!"
and the flags of our 2 beloved countries : México and Colombia
on his lapel

No words  to express the sadness to loose one of the most respected and honored Latin American writer!!!

Paying him a small tribute through this post
and this special card that I made as soon as I knew...

Wishing him to fly like a butterfly free of "sickness" with his adored Colombian flag colors...

We will
"Cry, Laugh but ...foremost
Remember him through his enormous Legacy!"

Rest in Peace!
Descansa en Paz, Querido 'Gabo'!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello MY Dear Stamper Friends:

Happy Valentine's Day!

In spanish we greet people by saying: "Feliz día del Amor y de la Amistad" which translates in "Happy day for Love and Friendship"...

And I think is very appropriate to wish a happy day to your friends not only to your loved one...
so I made this card thinking in dear girls friends that I have...
I know some of you have already received this card!...:)
That heart is an embossing folder from "Sixxiz"

Here it is the inside ...the little hearts falling are the ones punched from the "Martha Stewart" heart border punch

I used several stamps, punches and the fuchia stripe of paper at the bottom comes from the punched "heart border punch", it is the left over....I use everything!!!

and do not forget the back
I love this set of clear stamps from "Hero Arts/creative bird"! It comes with several stamps for the back of your cards, see it on the supply list...
Once more combining several stamp companies and inks...

Sending you lots of love and friendship on this day!
Hugs

Happy 4th of July!

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:

Happy Independence Day USA!

Today, we celebrate here in the USA "Independence Day"...

We, here at home, we usually make a BBQ, eat some "real" American food...hamburgers, hot dogs and all the other trimmings like corn on the cob,  potato salad and of course some desserts...
OMG! that is why it is so difficult to keep in shape :)!!!

Then we go to the movies and see the latest release and at night we go and see the fireworks...nothing special but to me it feels so patriotic!

This month of July is so patriotic ... as far as I know...
Our fellow northern neighbors, from Canada, celebrate their "Canada's Birthday" on July 1st ...

Here in the USA, we celebrate the independence from the English, on the 4th...

then France celebrates on the 14th of July, "Bastille Day/La Fête Nationale", which commemorates the end of the French Revolution and the beginning of a new modern nation as a Republic and not as a Monarchy...

and on the 20th  of July it is Colombia's independence day, my native country!... from the Spanish...
So this month is all about national colors, remembrance and jubilee!!!

OK...Onto the card...

This was a card that I offered at a class, The parade children is a  Hero Arts stamp and the background has a damask stamp from penny Black; the frame is from Tim Holtz...

The technique that I use is called Emboss Resist creating a shadow effect...I punch the edge and I use the little stars to decorate the free hand cut banner and the ribbon reminds me of fireworks...
I hope you enjoy it ...

Remember to stop by my language blogs for Memory Box, we are having a Blitz for 2 weeks, until July 14th!!...

so far I have several messages from you and your comments are sooo Nice...
thank you very much...It means a lot to me!!!

For the new people visiting me today ...remember to leave me a message at the end of each post over there and I will be giving some prizes at the end of each week...I will keep you posted and this coming Sunday...I will announce some lucky winners...

See you there or here...bye
