Birthday Punch Art Card: a Piggy Golfer

Hello MY friends;
here I am with a different card for me...made entirely with punches...
A piggy golfer!

My husband was born in the year 1959 and according to the "Chinese zodiac"  he is a PIG...

Note:
"The Chinese animal zodiac, or shengxiao (/shnng-sshyaoww/ ‘born resembling’), is a repeating cycle of 12 years, with each year being represented by an animal and its reputed attributes.

Traditionally these zodiac animals were used to date the years.
In order, the 12 animals are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig."

what animal are you? Do you know?
I am a rooster!!!

So my little pig plays golf since he does too and this is a "funny" card because he likes this type of cards...
I always find difficulty making a card for him, because my style is so much different than his...
but it is a good challenge for me....
When his birthday comes around I have to think "out of the box" and leave my comfort "creative" zone and go and create something different and hopefully special for him!!!

Here are the punches that I used for this card...

to make the piggy golfer:
hat: made with 2 halves of 2 different size circles,
golf  club: cut side of the owl body and ear
nostrils: cut from the owl heart
face: owl body without feet, curved the ears
feet: owl "apron"

Farewell to "Gabo"...Adios a "Gabo"!

....As we, Colombians, used to call him!

Today The world of literature has lost a Giant!!!
Farewell to Gabriel García Márquez, ("Adios a Gabo")!!

All the World, Latin Americans and specially, myself  as a Colombian I feel a deep sadness to know that today we have lost one of the greatest writers of the Spanish Language ...Nobel prize in 1982 for his novel "One Hundred Years of Solitude/Cien Años de Soledad"

I  feel touched not only because I am Colombian and "we" admire him deeply but because I had the opportunity to meet him when I was 15 years old while living in Mexico, City...

Photo: Him and I, with his novel: "Cien años de Soledad!"
and the flags of our 2 beloved countries : México and Colombia
on his lapel

No words  to express the sadness to loose one of the most respected and honored Latin American writer!!!

Paying him a small tribute through this post
and this special card that I made as soon as I knew...

Wishing him to fly like a butterfly free of "sickness" with his adored Colombian flag colors...

We will
"Cry, Laugh but ...foremost
Remember him through his enormous Legacy!"

Rest in Peace!
Descansa en Paz, Querido 'Gabo'!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello MY Dear Stamper Friends:

Happy Valentine's Day!

In spanish we greet people by saying: "Feliz día del Amor y de la Amistad" which translates in "Happy day for Love and Friendship"...

And I think is very appropriate to wish a happy day to your friends not only to your loved one...
so I made this card thinking in dear girls friends that I have...
I know some of you have already received this card!...:)
That heart is an embossing folder from "Sixxiz"

Here it is the inside ...the little hearts falling are the ones punched from the "Martha Stewart" heart border punch

I used several stamps, punches and the fuchia stripe of paper at the bottom comes from the punched "heart border punch", it is the left over....I use everything!!!

and do not forget the back
I love this set of clear stamps from "Hero Arts/creative bird"! It comes with several stamps for the back of your cards, see it on the supply list...
Once more combining several stamp companies and inks...

Sending you lots of love and friendship on this day!
Hugs

SUPPLIES:

"Check" Envelope/Card ...for Mom!

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:
The last time that I posted a card was a "Gatefold" card in honor of this coming Mother's day...

Well...Today, trying to give you some more ideas for this special day,  I am bringing to you this custom made "envelope/card" that I created to hold a check inside...

If you liked this photo share it on Pinterest, click on button:

For the ones of you that opt to give your moms some "money" instead of a gift certificate...or a gift...

They are very simple to make...

1- Cut a piece of paper 6 1/2" x 6 1/2";
2- Score at 2" and 3 1/4"
3- Fold at the 3 1/4 " mark
4- Place tape ONLY on the 2" "section" on each side to keep it shut (creating a Flap)
5- Decorate as desired...

This is how it opens...
Insert the check
I place ribbon on the edge for this one

I have done these other envelope/cards using the same measurements...but decorating them differently to use for other occasions...
On the edge for this one I use "Flocking"... on the photo it is difficult to see but in person is so soft!

I keep several of them handy and when I need to send  someone a check... I  can do it in style!

 Here it the back for this one;

And a last one ... I used "Flocking" as well for this one on the edge...

Ok I hope you like them and can be of some use...

If you are curious... On how I organize my punches, look on the side bar under "Organization"/punches ...I have posted my storage solutions...

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon for another "Mother's Day" card...
