Summer Backgrounds

Hello dear Friends:

Here are some of my last "marine" themed cards...
These 2 cards are made using 2 unique and very different background techniques...

This card is one of the cards that I taught at my local craft store at the beginning of July...

the background is made using alcohol inks on glossy paper...

as well as the lighthouse

Here are the 3 cards taught at that class

This second card is made with several stamps in order to create a fun background

stamp the different elements; die cut them and place them all over to create a background

add a sentiment in vellum and Voilà!

I hope I gave you some ideas 

to create your unique paper backgrounds

Summer Boat Card...

Hello My Friends:

Here I am with another summer card...

This one turn out to be a little bit more laborious than other cards but the result is worth while...

The center panel (checkers in light blue)  is inserted in the floral frame...(inlay technique)
and the flowers of the frame were colored some with "Prismacolor"pencils, others filled with shiny "stickles"...and some others left with the "Negative" cut outs...

for the boat I used the "Paper Piecing" technique

and the waves (3 different pieces of paper) were also inserted in the frame...
and placed on top of the Checkers paper..

The stamps and the dies are a set of coordinating stamps and dies form Memory Box...

Summer Yellow Card...

Hello my dear Friends:

I hope you have not forgotten me...
I have being away, from my blog for quite some time...
I apologize for this...

In this time I have held 2 card classes at my local craft store and have being posting projects at the language (French and Spanish) blogs for Memory Box with their 2 most recent releases, June and July...and well the summer vacation and my acrylic painting have taken me away from here :(

But now I have returned!!! and let's hope that time will allow me to stay constant in here!!!!

Let's start with a summer card...

in this bright yellow card I used the "puffy cloud" die to make some "coral" mounds in brown...
always tried to find other ways to use your regular dies...

and I used the "waves" from the "lighthouse" die to make some more "coral" plants...

and the focal point is this school of fish...

The corals were taken from a "coral collage" die (see supplies below)...

All framed with a "tiny scalloped" edge in white

Lighthouse Card for a Man

Hello dear card making friends:

Usually, cards for Men are quite challenging ...
So here it is one for your inspiration...

I made it for a friend who lives near the ocean...so the "Lighthouse" die from Memory Box was perfect for the focal point on this card...

and since it is in California, what more appropriate than decorating it with some grape leaves, remembering all the vineyards and the coast line from this beautiful state...
and some "hardware"/ brads for the center of the cluster of leaves...

I hope it gives you some ideas...
