Happy Birthday Card: using the Inlay Technique

Hello My Dear Stamper Friends:
I hope you had a wonderful V. day yesterday!...
My husband and I went to a French restaurant and had a pleasant evening celebrating and remembering how we met in France, many many years ago!!!

Ok my dear friends, today I would like to share with you all this card made to commemorate the first anniversary of  the French blog: "Un brin de Créativité"  for Memory Box...
and I used in here the  Inlay Technique!

This technique is very fun, pretty and sometimes if the design is too intricate it need some patience, but  with this particular "Happy Birthday Background" die from "Poppystamps";
it was pretty, fast and easy

Step  by Step:
You cut twice the die, one in white card stock and a second time in pink.
Then you insert in the negative portions some pieces, as I did with the words "happy" & "birthday".
It is like making a "puzzle", you are inserting pieces inside the recessed areas...

You can see this technique being used in Asian wood lacquer furniture with incrustations of mother of pearl....quite beautiful!

I had used the Inlay Technique with veneer wood in THIS POST, this one took a little bit more of time, but the effect was worth doing it. Before inserting each piece back in the wood,  I had  colored them with Copics...

To complement THIS background card, I made a 3D flower bottom corner arrangement and that's it! Quite easy card to make!

NOTE: if you like the "Tilda swirl" on the back of the bouquet get it NOW on any of your favorite online stores that will have it in stock, because this die is retiring!!! I know Ellen Hutson, has it! so, if you like it! get it NOW that you can, because your current stores can NOT order it anymore!!!

Wishing you a nice week end!
See you next time with another  stenciling fun technique, that you do NOT want to miss!
