Lavinia Challenge #2 - Blue, Lilac or Both

Hello Dear Stamper Friends:

Every first of the month, Lavinia's Stamps hosts a Challenge at their blog...

For this month of February, the theme for the challenge # 2  is "something blue, lilac or both", and here are my contributions as a DTM for your inspiration..featuring the magical Lavinia Stamps!

In both cards I am using mainly the "Climbing Ivy"...see how different ONE stamp can look!

For this blue card I used "Repeatedly one same stamp", the "Climbing Ivy" stamp
on the backgrounds: on the cream embossed one and the navy one,
on the focal main image next to the castle
and on the Unicorn

I created a "Faux Lattice Grid Background"
1- by tracing with my stylus diagonal lines on my scoring board
2- added gold dots with a "Krylon" gold pen on the intersections and edge of the card

And lastly I used the "Kissing" Technique on the Unicorn
step by step:
1- ink in blue the "unicorn" Stamp,
2- stamp with a 2nd stamp, (the "Ivy" in my case), the unicorn stamp, this will remove some blue ink. the 2 stamps are "kissing" each other before touching the paper
3- and now yes stamp on your paper...
the result; you have a design on top of the unicorn

and for the Lilac card I used the  same "Climbing Ivy Stamp"

Using  the "Black Magic" Technique
step by step:
1- (My version)  stamp with white ink on brown cardstsock instead of black
2- color with "prismacolor " pencils on top of the white ink.

I hope I inspired you to play along with us and post a card using at least one Lavinia stamp
for the chance to win a £40 voucher

  1. Morning Bibiana,
I adore your work and simply love this inspiration!
What a clever idea using the ivy on the unicorn, I will have to try that myself!
I haven't used the black magic technique so that's something else for me to try.
    Have a good weekend
    Hugs, Karen xx
